ROCKET Expression of Interest Form

What is ROCKET?

A one-day, interactive course aimed at primary-aged children to enable them to become ROCKET resilience champions within their schools.

The role of the group will be to look at what the school already does to promote resilience, but also where the areas for improvement are regarding resilience and how the resilience champions can improve on these. There is a focus on what mental health is and how children can support their mental health and other people.

Throughout the course, we refer to Resilient Ralph – so for those schools who have received the ROAR Training, the ROCKET Course compliments and works alongside ROAR, both of which have been developed by the MYA RAISE Team.

What does ROCKET stand for?

ROCKET stands for Resilient, Open, Caring, Kind, Equal, Togetherness. When developing ROCKET, we consulted and trialled with primary schools in Liverpool to ensure the course would be useful and beneficial to schools.

Who can it be delivered to?

The course can be delivered to up to a class of children, and is delivered in a full days training that fits in with your school day. We recommend the course being delivered to years 5 and 6, and you can target a specific year group or have a mix across year groups.

The course is split into five separate workshops:

Session 1- What is mental health?
Session 2- What is resilience? When am I resilient and who helps me?
Session 3- What makes a good resilience leader? The importance of kindness and being a role model.
Session 4- Recognising that everyone has different views, opinions and perspectives. Exploring key themes such as bullying, body image and social media.
Session 5- Enabling children to think of their ideas of how they are going to be resilient in their school, spread kindness, support themselves and others. Launch the ROCKET.

How can I get the children ROCKET Trained in my school?

The course is free for primary schools in Liverpool. If your school is outside of Liverpool, please still fill out the form and we'll be in touch to discuss further.
